How to use this template

When you need it

Use when a buyer's intended operation depends on utility capacity claimed by a seller. Apply before relying on historic consumption, equipment ratings or connection documents as evidence of available future supply.

What it helps you decide

The worksheet separates different meanings of capacity and exposes conditions attached to supply. It supports a realistic acquisition decision by linking buyer demand to current provider and connection evidence.

How to complete it

  1. Record Utility / point and Capacity claim, distinguishing connected rating, contracted supply, historical use and spare capacity. Link each assertion to Verified evidence.
  2. Check Validity / beneficiary and any Condition or upgrade against actual provider documents. Identify the physical boundary, metering and ownership questions requiring confirmation.
  3. Compare Buyer demand with evidenced supply on consistent units and operating assumptions. Describe the Unresolved gap and assign a Confirmation owner before acquisition reliance.

Who prepares and reviews it

Utility specialists prepare the technical assessment with operating-data owners and provider contacts. Counsel reviews transferability questions; the buyer's authorized transaction team decides reliance conditions after technical and legal findings are distinguished.

A mistake to avoid

Subtracting historical consumption from a connection rating and calling the result available capacity ignores contractual limits, operating peaks and unresolved conditions on supply.

Illustrative example

Illustrative example: a seller describes a factory as having spare electrical capacity based on an old connection letter. The worksheet records the named beneficiary and stated conditions alongside buyer demand. Provider confirmation is sought before the buyer decides whether additional network work belongs in its acquisition cost assessment.
