Site Logistics Plan

Plan access, laydown, traffic, lifting interfaces, welfare, utilities, waste, emergency routes and phased site changes.

How to use this template

This Word template contains prepared headings, tables, project fields and completion notes. Add your information, review the completed document and remove the notes before issue.

The form prepares a separate brief; it does not fill the Word or Excel file.

How to use this template

When you need it

Prepare before site mobilization and revise when construction phases, delivery volumes or neighbouring activities change. Use it whenever movement, storage and temporary facilities must coexist within constrained site boundaries.

What it helps you decide

The plan makes space and movement conflicts visible before they disrupt work. It helps the site team allocate access, storage and coordination responsibilities while retaining links to specialist traffic and lifting arrangements.

How to complete it

  1. Use the site layout and delivery forecast to describe Site arrangement. Record Logistics area, Proposed use and Drawing reference for each significant operating zone.
  2. Map Movement planning around actual geometry, pedestrian routes and vehicle movements. Enter Access constraint and Interface or conflict where deliveries compete with ongoing construction.
  3. Assign the Control owner for coordination measures in Operating controls. In Change response, identify phase or access changes that require a revised arrangement and review.

Who prepares and reviews it

A logistics coordinator or construction manager prepares it with trade supervisors, delivery planners and safety personnel. Specialist designers review relevant interfaces; approval of particular traffic or lifting arrangements follows the project's assigned authority.

A mistake to avoid

Using a mobilisation layout throughout the project ignores shrinking storage space and changing access routes as permanent works occupy the original logistics areas.

Illustrative example

Illustrative example: facade deliveries are planned while underground drainage blocks the main turning area. Record the affected logistics zone and delivery conflict against the current layout. The team compares alternative unloading windows and storage locations, then coordinates a revised arrangement before confirming the supplier's delivery slot.
