How to use this template

When you need it

Use when measured quantities support estimates, procurement or valuation. Maintain it as drawings and model revisions change so the current cost basis can be traced to the current measurement scope.

What it helps you decide

The register makes quantities reproducible and revision movements explainable. It helps prevent omitted or duplicated elements at package boundaries and reveals unsupported dimensions before they influence cost or purchasing decisions.

How to complete it

  1. Define Item code and Element / location against current drawings. Record Source revision and Measurement rule, including treatment of deductions, overlaps or allowances.
  2. Link Quantity / unit to its Takeoff reference and exact source location. Leave inferred or unsupported dimensions visibly unresolved until the basis can be checked.
  3. Record Revision movement and Check status as sources change. Reconcile superseded quantities with the estimate revision and explain the independent check coverage.

Who prepares and reviews it

A quantity surveyor or estimator prepares it with drawing and model contributors. A separate checker reviews selected takeoffs and measurement rules; acceptance of the resulting estimate or valuation follows project authority.

A mistake to avoid

Combining quantities from superseded and current drawings without a revision bridge can duplicate changed elements and make the resulting estimate impossible to reproduce.

Illustrative example

Illustrative example: revised foundation drawings alter several pile caps while retaining others. The register identifies affected item codes, drawing revisions and checked takeoff references. The estimator updates only supported quantity movements and checks package interfaces before revising the concrete procurement forecast.
